Background of Nothando Maphumulo’s Disappearance
Nothando Maphumulo was last seen approximately two weeks ago when she left her home to visit her boyfriend, identified only as Smiso, near the Hammonds Farm flats in Waterloo, KwaZulu-Natal.
According to her family, she usually communicates with them during visits, but this time, all attempts to reach her have failed. Her cellphone initially rang for several days, but is now unreachable.
Maphumulo is described as 1.7 metres tall, weighing around 65 kilograms, with a medium complexion. She was last seen wearing brown jeans, a brown and white checkered top, and pink-and-white sneakers. She also has a tattoo on her leg with the name “Thando,” which may help in identifying her.

Family members have urged the public to share information and check in with friends and neighbors in the Waterloo and Inanda areas. Social media posts and community groups have amplified the appeal, calling on anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.
